Stop in, look around, have a drink and crank some tunes. I'll be posting some songs ripped from records, some out of print and hard to find stuff, some songs by artists you should be listening to, and a few mixes here and there.

Thanks!

Hi everyone. I'd really like to say THANKS for all of the great comments and support I've been getting lately. I knew there were a bunch of people out there who love music that's not always commercially available and it's really fun to be a part of a community like this. I started this to just post some songs for friends and didn't really expect anyone else to find this. That is why you will only see a few selections off of certain records. Check The Cool Wax was basically started by my brother Bill and I talking about records and great older songs aren't available on cd.

A lot of people have been requesting whole albums and I'm going to start doing that. There are basically two reasons why this isn't happening right now. I need to get a better turntable and I have a really short attention span. Right now when I want to import songs, I have to go over to Bill's house and use his stereo system. Needless to say it's a pain in the ass. I don't want to spend my whole time over there importing 3 or 4 albums when I could grab my favorite songs off of 10 or 15. Sorry if this pisses people off. Next month, after I move, my search for a nice turntable will kick into full gear. When I get my home system set up, it's full albums for everyone! So if you hear a something you like, leave a comment and ask for the whole album. I promise I'll get to it sooner or later. Right now, people have expressed interest for whole albums of Music To Read James Bond By, Chris Knight and Maureen McCormick, Mrs. Miller, William Shatner "LIVE", Kay Stevens Live, Rockin' With Milt, Persuasive Percussion and the flip side to Frank Gorshin's Riddler (this will be up in a few days). I will probably still post select songs here and there if the record has damage or think people won't want to listen to the whole thing.

I'd also like to says thanks for all of the great blogs and sites that have linked to me and helped get my name out there. I know I've received a lot of traffic from PCL Linkdump, Bubblegum Fink, and Papel Continuo. They all have really cool stuff If you haven't been to them before.

I'll shut up now. As you can tell from my posts, I'm not a real big talker. Again, thanks for stopping by. I have so many more albums to post and I just can't wait to share.

Yes, this is a great blog and I check back all the time for updates. If you'd like another link, from over on my blog, just let me know. I post my old 45's there, featuring mostly b-sides of artists like Doris Day, Dean Martin and Julie London, to name a few, which have never been on any albums. Cruise on over to "Music For Every Mood" and let me know if I can add a link to your great site there.
