Well, there is no beach in this one either. But it does have Frankie Avalon and it also has bikinis. I've read that this was going to have musical numbers in it but they were cut. The magnificant Vincent Price is Dr. Goldfoot. He has created an army of bikini clad robots to rob rich guys out of their money. Frankie and Dwayne set out to stop him. This pretty much finishes up my beach movie dvd collection. I'm going to look around Netflix for others.
Beach party on skis. Frankie Avalon and Dwayne Hickman go on a ski trip and hijinks ensue... It is very rare I have a DVD that skips because I really treat them nice. But once again, this one is messed up and I can only get a few songs off of it. Sorry 'bout that. It's a streatch, but you may be able to add "Ski Party" by The Hondells to your next Christmas mix. A real odd part of this movie is James Brown showing up and singing.
We are moving into the beach movies with Dwayne Hickman. I have to admit I'm not his biggest fan. Sorry. He doesn't have the charisma of Frankie. In this movie Frankie is going to the reserves and he dosen't want another guy to steal Annette from him so, with the help of a witch doctor, he sends Cassandra, a sea beauty to keep the guys busy. Mickey Rooney shows up wants to make Cassandra a model. This must be one of the first product placements when Annette and Dwayne each have their own bucket of KFC chicken on the beach perfectly turned so you can read the label.
It's "Beach Party" all over again...but this time with MUSCLE! The swingin'est surf and sand you ever saw! That's the tagline from this one. The kids have their beach overtaken by big muscley dudes trained by Don Rickles. Also staring the one-and-only Buddy Hackett. Morrey Amsterdam is also in this and Peter Lorrie shows up at the end for a cameo. Candy Johnson is also here doing her crazy butt dance.
Here the Colonel hired some studio musicians to try and replicate Herb Alpert. It's not bad, but if you are going to listen to this, why not listen to the real thing? Maybe it came free with a bucket of chicken. I feel bad about giving the Colonel the credit for the music but there are no musicians listed. The back is funny because Colonel Sanders makes a comment on every song.
Favorite songs with that provocative beat for a special home party. Have the little lady play these gems when she prances around in her new skimpy outfit. Check out this lady on the cover. That's about enough to make me run and scream out of the room...
Here is a Hanna-Barbera record of Jonny Quest from 1965. Jonny Quest is one of my favorite cartoons from my childhood. I love the art, the sound effects, the stories were serious... It just wasn't like any other cartoons for me. This record has all of the original voice actors (Tim Matheson, John Stephenson Michael Road) and really captures the spirit of the cartoon.
Posted here is the Buena Vista Record release of Star Trek The Motion Picture Read-Along. I've misplaced the record sleeve for this one. I'll switch out the graphics when I find it. Been on kind of a read along kick lately. I'll get back to music soon.
