Stop in, look around, have a drink and crank some tunes. I'll be posting some songs ripped from records, some out of print and hard to find stuff, some songs by artists you should be listening to, and a few mixes here and there.

The Rebel Force Band :: Living In These Star Wars

Here is an absolute classic - the ultimate in camp. The Rebel Force Band - Living In These Star Wars (It might be Living In These Star Warz). Maybe they were trying to get around a copyright. I really wonder why you don't hear more about these guys. This is not the exact cover but it is very close. I had to recreate it because the original cover had some damage.

Hey! Did You Ever Know A Noisy Eater?

Another Jerry Lewis record. Here is The Noisy Eater. This 7" was is pretty rough shape so the sound isn't the best. It's still pretty fun though and Bozo Approved!

Esquivel :: Other Worlds Other Sounds

Here are three tracks from Esquivel's Other Worlds Other Sounds lp from 1958 that helped kick off the Space-Age Bachelor Pad music scene. Take a listen. It's a classic.

Marvel Power Records - Spider-Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four & Captain America

Power Records from 1978. It contains four stories of Marvel heroes; Spider-man, Fantastic Four, Captain America and The Hulk. These are definitely from a different era because they are all downers. Is there a part 2 to this because 2 of these stories are cliff-hangers. I don't think they would make these as dark if they made them today...

Take Off You Knob :: The Strage Brew Soundtrack

One of my favorite movies ever. Strange Brew. If you don't like it the first time you watch it, try watching it eighteen more times. Here is the Soundtrack. It's actually new dialog recorded with some of the score mixed in. It has the theme song with and without sound clips. I heard they tried to make a sequel a couple of years ago called Home Brew but was dropped for legal reasons.

BOB AND DOUG MCKENZIE :: STRANGE BREW SOUNDTACK

Check out the record sleeve art of their newspaper The Daily Knob. It is great.

I thought I'd also include the art to their first album The Great White North and the 45 of Take Off. This is on cd and you should pick it up.

Al Hirt :: The Horn Meets The Hornet

I bought this hoping there was more Green Hornet songs on here. I guess I didn't look close enough. It's still pretty fun though. Al (he's the king) Hurt does his signature Green Hornet Theme as well as other "Popular TV Themes Of Intrigue." There are a couple of pop noises in the Monkees Theme that I couldn't remove.

When is The Green Hornet going to finally come out on DVD?!?

ENTIRE ALBUM POSTED HERE

Satan In High Heels

This movie has been put out on DVD by Something Weird Video so you definitely know it IS something weird. I personally haven't seen it yet. I'm guessing the chick on the cover is the main bitch that does the ass-kicking. Cool song though.

Bonanza

I was never a big fan of the show but I really like this album. The boys are throwing Pa a surprise birthday party country style. Yee-ha! Ponderosa Party Time.

One To Skip

Great cover. Music not so great. This one was bought to sit in my cheesecake record cover pile and I'll buy any record with a fez on it. Skip this one. Kind of like nails on a chalk board...

Jerry Lewis in Cinderfella

Here is a great children's record. It's Jerry Lewis telling the story of Cinderfella. Basically the story of Cinderella but with Jerry in the lead named "Fella." This story is just like the Jerry Lewis movie of the same name, but has been shortened. What is really cool is that it's not just clips from the movie, it has been completely re-recorded (with new songs) to fit on to two sides of a record - approximately 22 minutes. It's great. The album cover has a gate fold with a game inside. It also had a read-along book that is missing in my copy. A baton was also included so you can conduct the orchestra.

JERRY LEWIS :: CINDERFELLA

After posting this Cinderfella record, it got me thinking. Most people will think I'm a glutton for punishment for buying this 10 DVD set, but I'm a Jerry Lewis fan. I said it. I am. My brother Bill and I have always watched Jerry Lewis and/or Dean Martin movies as long as I can remember. Not all of these movies are home runs. I'll be the first to say that. But most are great. The Nutty Professor is one of Jerry's best. These are from long before Eddie Murphy made his two incredibly un-funny movies of the same name. Jerry Lewis wrote and directed himself in this hip sixties romp. It also stars a really hot Stella Stevens. The premises is about the same, except Jerry is just a science nerd that turns ultra cool and not a fat guy that turns good looking like Eddie's character. Cinderfella is another great one. Basically the story you heard above on the record but longer. You can find laughs in all of them. It also has one Martin and Lewis movie called the Stooge. Not their best but fun to watch. I'd say get this set if you are a Jerry Lewis fan. If you are not, you just may hang yourself half way through these movies... Jerry can get a little (a lot maybe) obnoxious. If you just want to check out one or two movies, pick up The Nutty Professor or Cinderfella by themselves because you can buy them as single movies for around ten bucks. I'm still waiting for The Geisha Boy to come out on DVD, it's my favorite.

Tear Jerker Alert!

I remember this record being around the house when I was a kid. The song is about trying out for the Green Beret, making it, and then ultimately dying in combat. He sends a message back to his wife that he wants his kid to have his silver wings.

Who Loves Ya' Baby?

How can I describe this musically? Think Shatner, but not as good. Here are two gems from Telly Savalas' 1974 record. Why do I have a strange fascination with odd music? Listen for him to actually go from talking to singing about a minute into Rubber Bands and Bits of String.

A Perfect Surf Tune

This has to be my favorite surf song. For sure it's my favorite surf instrumental. It's the Astronauts from 1963 and the song is called Baja. It's great!

I'll Take Sweden Yah Yah Yah

Two songs here from the I'll Take Sweden Soundtrack (1965). I'm a sucker for these kind of movies... They are great for Saturday afternoons.

Hiding The Tears In My Eyes

From the days of the extended dance mix. Here is The Cure with Boys Don't Cry. I don't think there is any argument that the original is better. Although I did like the extended versions better when the band rerecorded it longer instead of some hack dj just repeating the hooks.

Changing Servers

There may be problems getting some files in the next couple of days. My files are being transferred to a new server. Hang in there. I think it will be done by Monday.
