Stop in, look around, have a drink and crank some tunes. I'll be posting some songs ripped from records, some out of print and hard to find stuff, some songs by artists you should be listening to, and a few mixes here and there.

I Walk The Line Again

Here is another version of I Walk The Line but this time by The Brad Suggs Orchestra on Phillips International Records. I found this on a 45. I really no nothing about this guy but the song was interesting.

A Little Bit Frightening

Here is a song called Dance The Kung Fu by Carl Douglas. I did a little looking around online and leaned that this was his follow up to his smash Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting. Unfortunately this one flopped in the U.S. and Carl was permanently placed in the novelty act category. This is from a 45 that had no sleeve.

Spider-man Power Records :: Vol. 2

More Power Records here. It's The Amazing Spider-Man in Invasion of the Dragon Men and 4 other stories. I want to know. Where's Green Goblin, Electro or The Rhino? Power Records must have only bought the license for old web-head and not his Marvel villains.

Norton Pal, Thanks For Coming Down...

Back in their funnier days, Joe Piscopo and Eddie Murphy cut a comedy-rap song called Honeymooners Rap. They hit the impersonations pretty good. The song follows actual Honeymooners episodes too which is cool.

The Joker

I found this song on a various artists record called Atlantic-Atco All-Star Showcase. This song stood out to me because I'm a huge fan of Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66. They also do a version of The Joker and both versions are great. This one is by Herbie Mann.

I'm Gonna Love You Baby And I Don't Mean Maybe

Here are two from Marvin Rainwater. I believe Marvin is in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and always displayed his Native American heritage with pride.

Milt Rocks!

I would really like to see this guy rockin' live. I picture him almost falling off his stool when he gets cooking. Check out that crazed look in his eyes. File under keyboard instrumentals by crazy-eyed cads.

Dean & Jerry - Aybody know about this?

I found cover art for a Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis DVD collection coming out June 13 but there is no other info. I did a few searches and find nothing on this. I'm really excited because these movies are long overdue for their DVD debut. I hope Hollywood Or Bust, Pardners, Artists & Models, Your're Never Too Young or Living It Up are included. Awesome movies. I'm guessing because it's from Paramount, it won't be another rehashing of their tv show.

#54 - The House With The Bamboo Door

Wow! This guy cooks. I have to admit that I'm on a kick where I really dig the crazy organ sounds from the 60's. Here is Earl Grant. I first heard him on a lounge cd that is now out of print. I want to find more records of his but all I seem to find are greatest hits.

Tikki Tikki Tembo

This was probably the first record that I listened to over and over as a kid so I was pretty floored to come across it in a clearance bin at a thrift store. Listening to it now I really don't hear anything that would make me want to listen to it again, but it did bring me back... Any one else remember this one? It's the story of a kid falling into a well in China and his name was too long for his brother to say when he was out of breath after running for help.

Hawaiian Eye Soundtrack

Last weekend here in Minnesota was in the 90's and we usually don't see a whole lot of those each summer. In honor of our tropical weather, here is the Hawaiian Eye TV Soundtrack from 1960. Here is the theme and two songs from stars from the show - Connie Stevens and Poncie Ponce. Robert Conrad was also on the show. I said in a previous post that I'll buy any record with a fez on it, well that also goes for tikis.

Good Night Mrs. Calabash

Here is a great song I found on a record of various artists called Those Memory Years, Volume 2. It's Jimmy Durante singing Inka Dinka Doo.
