Hey everyone - I'm still here and still alive. Sorry for the lack of posts. Summer was busy and I've just been taking a break from this blog and ripping records. New albums will be posted soon and I'm working on a kick-ass Munsters mix for Halloween (Volume 4 of Check The Cool Wax). Please stick around. There will be new content soon.
Stop in, look around, have a drink and crank some tunes. I'll be posting some songs ripped from records, some out of print and hard to find stuff, some songs by artists you should be listening to, and a few mixes here and there.

What Is Your Openion?

I'm really torn. I love Dean Martin, and really, who doesn't? There is a CD coming out tomorrow of Dean Martin duets. My knee-jerk reaction upon hearing of this CD was outrage and it would be complete garbage. How could they possibly do these songs justice? Why wouldn't you just listen to his originals? My curiosity got the best of me so I went to Amazon to hear some clips. There is a trailer for the CD there too. I watched it. It almost has me convinced to give it a try. Am I about to covert to the dark side? Am I about to cast my vote (as money) to the record industry to keep making unimaginative slop to make a quick buck? Or am I just being to snobbish and I should just give it a try?

Jerry Lewis :: Big Songs For Little People

Posted here is a GREAT record from my main man. It's Jerry Lewis Sings Big Songs For Little People. I expected a real quirky and silly record here and was pleasantly surprised by a loving and heartfelt lp. This is really good so give it a listen even if Jerry drives you crazy. Having small children in the home makes this even more special to me.

System Back Online

Hey kids! Forget all of the broken promises that I've made. My computer has been beefed up and I'm read to start posting records again. Up first will be the Lenny Dee Greatest Hits. Coming soon will be Jerry Lewis - Big Songs For Little People, Ted Knight - Hey Guys, Music To Read James Bond By, Vol. 2, Robin and the Seven Hoods Soundtrack and many more. There will also be single songs posted here and there. Ripping in entire albums burnt me out a little. It's good to be back.

30 Years Ago Today

Star Wars opened on this day in 1977 changing the lives of millions of kids, myself included. As we all know, it opened pretty quietly to just around 32 theaters and gradually grew through the year and peaking in 1978. After badgering and badgering my parents, I finally got to see it. Not exactly sure of the date. This was obviously before cable, internet, and all that jazz. The only real thing I had to cling to was my Star Wars cards. I looked at these pictures for hours. They totally blew my mind. I look at the set over at bubblegum-cards.com and it really brings me back to the feelings they gave me way back when. It really brings back some fond memories. After looking at these, I remember why I love this movie, and the whole Original Trilogy, so much. I seem to forget this due to the recent movies and craziness from Lucas. The whole Star Wars brand now seems to be spinning out of control in every direction and I don't think I could keep up even if I wanted to. That being said, I still have to really give George Lucas some props and say Thanks George for making the best movie ever!
Look around the site here and you will find some classic Star Wars records.
