Stop in, look around, have a drink and crank some tunes. I'll be posting some songs ripped from records, some out of print and hard to find stuff, some songs by artists you should be listening to, and a few mixes here and there.

Off Again

DAMN! Rolling Stone is reporting that the Van Halen reunion with David Lee Roth is again canned. They released this publicity shot just last week. I don't care if is a pain-in-the-ass, Diamond Dave is one of the greatest showmen in rock and I put the blame on Eddie. I wanted to see this. Anyone else?

HOGAN!!!!

One of my favorite album covers EVER. I waited to post this because I've been looking for a better copy. Colonel Hogan bangs the skins with a zany group covering TV themes with comedy bits. I love Hogan's Heroes, but I just can't get scenes from Auto Focus out of my head... Included are a few more versions of the Theme To Hogan's Heroes, Get Smart and The Green Hornet.

I'm Gonna Let Her In

How can you not like 70's Travolta? Welcome Back, Kotter; Grease; Saturday Night Fever; even Urban Cowboy in the 80's is one of my favorites. Here he is singing some soft 70's pop. The song Let Her In was the single and I really like the song. The rest is good to but might be a little too sappy for some.

Guitar Heroes

My cousin John and I got the band going. Burning Nettle was too long for the game to handle, so we just dropped it to Burn! I can't get enough of this game!

Um... I Don't Think So...

In my newest issue of Blender magazine, I came across an article called Rock Star Wars. It has been an on-going monthly series set up in a bracket-style contest to find the best Rock had/has to offer. I almost shit when I read The Talking Heads beat Elvis. Sorry. No. The Talking Heads were a very inflential band, I'll give them that. I will agree to Elvis being beaten by The Beatles or Dylan or maybe even The Stones. What you see above is one of the four brackets. Prince, The Beatles, Bob Dylan and The Talking Heads(?!?!) still remain. How do I cancel my subscription?

Hey Kids, It's Lunch With Casey

Hey Kids! Every city had their local kid's TV personalities in the 60's and 70's. One of the great ones we had in the Minneapolis area (channel 11) was Casey Jones along with his sidekick Roundhouse Rodney. I only caught the tail end of this childhood local programming. What I remember most was his Happy Birthday song. I do have a memory of seeing Casey at a local parade driving a very small train (more like a go-cart). He barely fit in the thing and I remember it smoking pretty badly. He was all smiles and waves and I remember thinking, "Wow! I just saw Casey Jones." On the way back to car with my family we saw the same little train in the ditch, abandoned, on it's side, with a bottle laying next to it... I wish there was something like this for my son to watch. All of this light-hearted, simple program is gone.

The Dynamic Batmen

Let's keep this Batman thing going. I'm on a roll. Here are The Dynamic Batmen with quit possible the most bizarre album cover here. What does it all mean? Is is some kind of drug trip? I had previously posted just the Batman Theme, but now I'll share the entire album.

Two posts in a day. Wow. It's been awhile for that. This one is really good. I've watched a lot of TV and I didn't know half these shows. Doesn't matter. Great cover too. Comes with a Get Smart Theme to go with my previous post. Also has Batman, Green Hornet and The Monkees. All favs.

I'm Back

Aaaahhh... Rested and ready to go. I found a record player that I had purchased from a garage sale. It needed a needle (cartridge) and I never wanted to take the plunge. Well I did and it sounds pretty good. Let the ripping begin. First I think I'm going to repost some entire albums of some that I had only posted a few mp3s from. Any requests?
