Stop in, look around, have a drink and crank some tunes. I'll be posting some songs ripped from records, some out of print and hard to find stuff, some songs by artists you should be listening to, and a few mixes here and there.

Redd Kross :: Super Sunny Christmas (1991)
Such an awesome song. I wish I could buy it somewhere... Is this really from 1991? It still sounds fresh to me!

Miracle On 34th Street Soundbytes
Only a few soundbytes this season. I'm going to focus on movies this time. Let's start with the cream-of-the-crop... As always, these are downloadable and fit nicely in your playlists. A nice surprise when they come up on random.

FREE Christmas Music Sampler With Some GREAT Songs!
Paste Magazine Holiday Sampler is FREE! Well, you could be a sport and tip them a few bucks if you are feeling the spirit. Included is the NEW JD McPherson song "Twinkle" (not available on iTunes until December 11) and one of my recent Christmas favorites called "Why Can't It Be Christmas All Year" by Rosie Thomas. I'm sure there are other gems too... I just now starting to listen to it but was so excited to see these two songs on here that I had to spread the word. Thanks Paste Magazine!

Brainwerk Christmas Mix 2010
Here is my annual Christmas Mix from 2010. This one has a newer slant to it. It's chock full of holiday goodness from some great indie, surf and folk artists. It even has a few classics by Dean Martin and Elvis remixed at the end. I hope you enjoy it. Move that Christmas Tree to the corner of the room so you have room to dance!

Christmas In The South Pacific
Merry Christmas everyone! How have you been this year? Good I hope. This season I'm going to be publishing some mixes to share. I gave up posting albums only to have them pulled back down. Here is my first one with a hawaiian feel. I've always wanted to spend a Christmas in Hawaii. Maybe someday... It's a long way from Minnesota!

Still Sad About MCA...
A big part of my younger days were spent listening to the Beastie Boys over and over. I can't help but feel this is an end of an era. RIP Adam. We will miss your disco call.

RIP Davy Jones
Davy will really be missed in my house. Just last summer my kids and I watched every episode of the TV Show and we play The Monkees all the time... Makes me a little mad at Mike Nesmith for never wanting to tour. Too late now Mike... Thanks.

Have a Hap-Hap-Happy New Year!
Quite possibly the most bizarre of all the Rankin/Bass holiday specials - Rudolph's Shiny New Year. This one had Red Skelton taking the lead characters voice and it scared me a little as a kid... But it had Rudolph and Santa so I was all in AND it had the real voice of Rudolph, Billie Mae Richards! I found myself singing this song today and thought it would be a good way to wind up this most excellent Christmas season. I hope you enjoy it and I hope you have a great 2012!
