Quite possibly the sexiest voice ever. Ann-Margret here pre-redhead but definitely not pre-sex kitten days. This record is from 1962. Hubba-hubba!

Would You Like To Make A Call...?
Here are three great songs off of a Kraftwerk Maxi-Single for The Telephone Call. I actually remember hearing this song on the radio for about a week back in '86 or '87. Thanks to Carlos for letting me borrow this.

Limbo Party
Alright. I'm in Minnesota where it is currently rainy, crappy and cold. I'm hoping this will bring me to a warm and happy place. I love this cover! No doubt it was taken just moments before this chick burst into flames...

Muppets Take Manhattan Read Along
Here is a read along book and record from 1984. The Muppets Take Manhattan. I can't tell if it's a voice actor doing all the voices, or the real people. I go back and forth.

Polka Your Eyes Out
This one was bought at a garage sale on it's cover merit alone. Judging by the red rings around this guys eyes, I don't think he made it much longer that night. It's your average polka-beer drinking song and the record quality sounds like shit. I'll post a song anyway.

Star Wars :: Adventures In ABC
Educational, Informative, Entertaining... Go from A to Z learning about he Star Wars Universe in rhyme. Again, this one sounds pretty crappy too and it was also from unplayed records. Cheap plastic?
Side note: Is that Ken Nordine narrating with Anthony Daniels?

Star Wars :: Adventures in Colors and Shapes
OK kiddies. Time to brush up on your colors and shapes with your favorite Star Wars characters. This is from Buena Vista Records, 1983. They really have Han play the part of a prick in this one. The sound is pretty crappy which is surprising because I removed the wrap from this one before I recorded it. It was never played.

For Fans Of Crazy Organs
Lenny Dee is the unsung hero of the early hyper synthesizer. Man! It sounds like this guy has sunshine shooting right out of his backside. The perfect music to play while you make balloon animals for small children. I love it!

Fetch Me My Martini...
I just can't get enough of early '60s Cocktail Culture, especially the record covers. This little clarinet fueled gem was bought for just that reason. It looks like this guy is living the good life. He's probably getting smashed over his lunch hour...

RIP Buck Owens :: 1929 - 2006
The Baron of Bakersfield is dead at 76 years old. I think he was the most underrated man in country music. Everybody loves Cash, and they should. But say you are a big fan of Buck Owens and you just may get a little chuckle. He had 15 #1 hits in a row with an unmistakable sound that could be extremely peppy or extremely depressing. I never had the pleasure to see Buck in concert and I guess I never will now. This is a real drag. I will post some of my favorite songs later, right now I'm going to mope...
"I'd like to be remembered as a guy that came along and did his music, did his best and showed up on time, clean and ready to do the job, wrote a few songs and had a hell of a time." - Buck Owens, 1992

James Dean on Conga Drums
This one is rare. I apologize for it sounding so bad, but I'm sure this is the best copy I'll see. The recording level is very low and there is a lot of background noise. I'm posting it so people can at least hear what it sounds like. I know I was curious.

The Smiths Pass Up 5 Million Bucks
Morrissey reported at SXSW that The Smiths were offered $5 million to play the Coachella Music Festival. The offer was rejected and there will be no reunion. "No, because money doesn't come into it." He continued, "It never has. I do what I do because it's all that I am." Just take the money Moz. We want to see a reunion!

Everyone was covering the Star Wars Theme in 1977. Here is the Electric Moog Orchestra's version. A little reminiscent of old video games...

Will You Be My Friend?

Software
I'm looking for a good software to remove pops and maybe enhance sound. Anyone have any suggestions? I tried a couple and I don't like the finished product. I'd rather have authentic record pops than faded electronic blips in the mp3. Please drop me a line or leave a comment if you use something that you are happy with. Thanks!

Here is another one to file under Thought It Would Be Better. This is a pretty good jazz instrumental from 1966, but it has nothing to do with Spidey.

Kid DYN-O-MITE!
I have to tell you. When I bought this album I had higher hopes for it, at least for its kitsch factor. It pretty much blows but there is a great intro by Jimmy Walker himself. It's only about 14 seconds long. Check it out.

Cold Counting Beasties
Here is a song from the Licensed To Ill recording sessions that didn't appear on the actual Liscensed To Ill record?!? I think it only appeared in a video and this 12 inch 45. I could be wrong, but here it is. From a time when they weren't trying to save the world, just trying to maintain a buzz.

The Cult
I went to see The Cult last night with Zed at First Avenue. It was great and they sounded awesome. We were lucky to get a good spot at the top of two steps so we could see over the crowd. I snapped a few pics and took a few short movies; none of which turned out that great. I posted four of the movies below. If there is a sudden movement in the movie, it's probably where someone ran into me. I hung around after the show and got Ian and Billy's autograph.

Spread A Little Bad Music Around
File under To Clear Out A Party. Peter and Marsha Brady recorded a record together in 1973. Apparently they received the most fan mail so it was only obvious that they should... I guess the Brady Six just didn't quench their thirst for rock stardom. There are so many background singers and production that you really can't make out either of their voices. I can't help but feel sorry for Barry Williams when this came out. You just know that this killed him.

Rewhipped
Herb Albert, like his counterpart Sergio Mendes, has a new cd out, except this one I'm excited about. It is a remix cd and artists involved include Thievery Corporation, Medeski Martin & Wood, John King, Mocean Worker, DJ Foosh, Camara Kambon, Anthony Marinelli and Ozomatli. They did a great job on the cover (left). It is an updated version of Herb's 40 year old Whip Cream & Other Delights album (center) and not to be confused with the Soul Asylum's hilarious Clam Dip & Other Delights cover.

Diana Dors :: Swinging Dors
Here is a great record that should be on cd! Some songs have appeared on a random lounge compilations but most or all are out of print. Diana Dors was Britain's most famous blond bomshell of the 1950's. Check this out and enjoy.

Big Boned
Here's an odd rip. It is by Victor Buono off of his 1971 album called Heavy. You may recogegnize Victor and probably not know his name. He appeared on a ton of tv detective and spy shows in the 60's and 70's often playing the bad guy. He was also King Tut in the Batman tv series. Some of his bigger film rolls were Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea, What Ever Happened To Baby Jane and Beneath The Planet Of The Apes. Anyway. He died young, I'm guess because of his weight. He obviously didn't hide it, here is some poetry called I'm Fat.
