One old guy lives there and tells stories of the town's heyday - bringing the family into a flashback. David finally get the bus running again fixing a gasket with an old inner tube (right...). As they are leaving, the old guy get bummed out and the family doubles back and spends Christmas with him Bonaduce-style.

A Modern Stone-Age Family Christmas

Just too many great visuals from this episode to show two or three... Fred Flintstone gets a part time job in a department store to earn a little extra cash for Christmas. He is a failure at almost every job they assign him until the store Santa gets sick and Fred sits in. It's a perfect fit! He's so good in fact, that when the real Santa is too sick on Christmas Eve, he recruits Fred to deliver the toys for him. There are two songs that Fred sings in this episode; Christmas Is My Favorite Time of Year and Dino The Dinosaur. Both of these songs are in the out-of-print set Hanna Barbera's Pic-A-Nic Basket Cartoon Classics so I don't need to post them as soundbytes. Fred does sing a shorter version of Christmas Is My Favorite Time of Year at the end and that is posted below.

Let me take some time away from the soundbytes to talk about one of my favorite local bands here in Minneapolis. They are a great live band that plays western swing and they pack the house. It's really hard to describe how much fun they are to see live. Every holiday season I look forward to their Christmas shows and I can't wait to see them next weekend. A few things... I'm still tweaking the look and layout here. Still trying to fix broken links and missing images too. I've started adding different icons to the soundbytes that you download. No need to re-download though, you can just grab the images above and apply them yourself.

I also get a little excited, and maybe I post to many soundbytes for some shows. They're not all home runs so I'll started adding a little comment at the end of each post saying if you download just one, get this one. UPDATE: Instead of doing this, I'm just going to post a best-of mix right before Christmas...

And lastly, Does anyone have any suggestions for the best way to host/post/play these soundbytes? These little Flash players start to act up if there are too many on the same page. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Munsters fans, I have a question for you... A couple of years ago when I was working on The Munsters Mix for my blog, I went through and watched every episode in sequential order. I remember coming across a Christmas reference and thinking that would be a great soundbyte in the next Christmas Mix I post here (if there ever is one). Anyone have any idea what this is or which episode it's in? It's not a Christmas episode, but a mention at the end of an episode. I totally drawing a blank... I am NOT talking about the abomination they call The Munster's Scary Little Christmas from 1996...

This is one of my personal favorite Christmas TV episodes. The Fonz brags about going to his cousins house for Christmas but Richie sees him eating ravioli out of a can instead. The Cunningham's trick Fonzie into coming to their house saying to celebrate by telling him they need help fixing their yard Santa. A real tear jerker! Christmas Soundbytes!

I was thinking. Where can I find myself in this sharing community? I've been gone for a few years... I really want to post some Christmas music and records, but there are far too many people out there that do it way better than I can. People like Ernie, The King of Jingaling, Erick and many others. There's not to many out of print Christmas records out there that someone hasn't posted. So I started thinking of other mediums besides music and came up with TV. TV soundbytes. I posted some sound bytes a few years ago from The Munsters, Pee-Wee Herman and beach movies with Frankie and Annette. They went over great. So that is what I'll be sharing this Christmas season. I love soundbytes. They are great on your iPod when it's on random. They pop up between songs here and there and it's really fun. I'm going to focus on TV sitcoms at first and I'll be posting some later today. Please stop back. Up first is Gilligan's Island, Happy Days and The Andy Griffith Show. All will be Christmas themed. Kids and life just take up too much time for that. But I will be posting interesting and unique albums and pop culture crap when I find them.
