Stop in, look around, have a drink and crank some tunes. I'll be posting some songs ripped from records, some out of print and hard to find stuff, some songs by artists you should be listening to, and a few mixes here and there.

Captain Kangaroo's Merry, Merry Christmas

I was never a big Captain Kangaroo fan, but this album is great. It's super-kiddie.

I had this record as a kid. It was played frequently (year round) on my "close & play" record player. Any chance of posting more tracks?

yes, more tracks from this wonderful album. It brings back so many memories. Bob Keeshan was so good with kids, God bless his soul...I long to see his show again.

Hi Mr. Brainwerk,
Maybe you can help me shed some light on this mystery... Over at my site I have a download of Mitch Miller & The Sandpipers 45 with "Merry Merry Merry Merry Christmas" on one side, and "Happy Little New Year" on the flip. The funny thing is these Mitch Miller songs are almost exactly the same as the Capt. Kangaroo songs!! The only difference really is a couple words spoken by the Captain at the start of the songs. Other than that, they're the same songs.
I first heard the song when I got the MM 45, and then that same season I got a mix from a friend with the CK version. I was floored!
Jingles,
Mr. Miller

Thanks for this -- what great childhood memories.

Now I get to share it with/inflict it on my own kids!
